The Tanzania Port Authority (TPA) has contributed to the construction of a girls' dormitory at Kilindoni Secondary School located in Mafia District, Pwani Region. Mafia’s District Commissioner, Mr. Martine Stephen Mtemo has received the help presented by the Small Port Manager, Mr. Erasto J. Lugenge on behalf of the Director General of TPA Mr. Plasduce Mbossa and thanked TPA for contributing significantly to the development of Mafia District.

The Head of the District has said that the economy of his District depends on the Port Industry and asked the Authority to continue helping the Mafia to solve the challenges of its citizens. Along with the support, TPA also built Mafia jetty in 2007 and donated Aluminum windows in 2019 for the construction of Kirongwe Health Center in Mafia district
